Health and crisis: pessimism or anxiety tragic reality?
On the occasion of “Welfare Day”, 5th June, the Italian research institute Censis presented a report which showed an increasing deterioration of the National Health System. According to the results, over 9 million Italians had complained of not gaining access to health services they needed, due to a lack of funds.
Of these, 2.4 million where older people, 5 million were couples with children and 4 million were in the South of the country. It is a serious situation, if we consider that according to the data collected 31.7% of Italians are convinced that the health system has worsened in their region, whereas the numbers who believe it is improve are becoming smaller and smaller, falling by 7%. They are worrying results, even if the anxieties and lack of wellbeing of the current situation probably accentuate such pessimistic perspectives.
On the other hand, the increase in red tape and bureaucracy necessary to gain clinical tests can be seen objectively as a negative factor.
