How far are Tessitori Voce groups active? This article will show us.
In Vicenza this year, there is a group of 49 volunteers, 16 of whom are new to the group. Not all of the Tessitori Vicenza are from the city, some of them live in the province and their age range is also quite wide, the youngest member is 16! From this year, in addition to the usual locations (Pediatria, Pensionato San Pietro, Istituto Salvi e San Camillo) we also added the Instituto Trento, where the Tessitori give animated readings, and the Institute Montecrocetta, where they will be a turning point for two departments ,Sunflowers and Tulips, which are respectively for rehabilitation and for elderly patients suffering from Alzheimer’s.
In Vicenza, we also find the Tessitori Santorso group, which to the hospital’s request participated in “premature baby day” on 17 November” by reading some stories. But events for Santorso hospital have not ended there. Indeed, on 16 December, 3.30-5.30pm, the Tessitori and the Schola Cantorum of St. Cecilia Cathedral Schio will hold a Christmas greetings special, alternating songs and readings in the foyer of the building.
A Mira Tessitori have been active since 25th February. They mostly hail from the province of Venice (Venezia Mestre, Marcon, Mirano, Santa Maria di Sala, Spinea, Campagna Lupia, Salzano) but some also come from Padua and Treviso. They perform the reading activities in the departments of Medicine and Neurology in Mestre hospital.
Finally, the Milan group has let us know that it officially started activity on 16th, at November the Istituto Clinico Humanitas. The departments with Tessitori are Dialysis, Neurological Rehabilitation, Inpatient (both of medicine and for Neurology) and two waiting rooms. In addition, Tessitori Milan have launched an internal blog to be able to exchange their feelings and views during the volunteer service.
The shifts are ready (as you can see from the photos) and the voice are warmed up, so…
Happy reading to all of you!
